Extracurricular Activities

At ICSJ, students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 enjoy a wealth of enrichment opportunities designed to spark creativity, ignite curiosity, and foster personal growth. Through a dynamic mix of ICSJ teaching staff and partnerships with leading organizations, students can explore diverse interests and develop new skills. Past offerings have included Cooking, Chess Academy, STEAM workshops, Stages Chicago theater programs, Young Rembrandts art classes, and much more! Afterschool enrichment opportunities for PreK students begin in the spring session of each year.

Beyond enrichment classes, ICSJ provides a vibrant array of clubs that promote social development, leadership, and community engagement. These activities are thoughtfully designed to enrich student life and cultivate the next generation of Catholic leaders with a deep commitment to their social mission within our urban community.

Clubs and Activities Include:

  • Student Government: Develop leadership skills and represent peers.
  • Choir: Share the joy of music and lead worship through song.
  • Yearbook Club: Capture and preserve school memories.
  • Green Team for the Environment: Advocate for sustainability and stewardship.
  • School Musical: Shine on stage and behind the scenes.
  • Quiz Bowl: Showcase knowledge and team spirit in academic competitions.
  • Book Club: Dive into literature and foster a love for reading.
  • Art Club: Unleash creativity through hands-on projects.

Through these engaging programs, ICSJ ensures every student finds a place to thrive, discover their passions, and build lifelong skills. Together, we create a vibrant, inclusive community where students grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

Most enrichment classes meet after school hours, and the cost varies by class. Please visit the Parent Center for specifics regarding upcoming extracurricular opportunities.
