Uploaded Oct 18, 2019 to Athletics 00:39 Time lapse of mask creation This week I'd like to share with you a time lapse an eighth grade student created of her working with a partner to create a mask! Read on for details of our other activities.Kindergarteners continued to paint paper in preparation for their Eric Carle collage as part of their illustrator unit. They also enjoyed a reading of The Pigeon Wants a Puppy and drew a pigeon of their own in the style of Mo Willems. First graders created landscapes with foregrounds, middlegrounds and backgrounds. Second graders learned about the principle of emphasis and created space scenes with foil. Third graders created a paper mosaic inspired by local historic artist Edgar Miller, who created mosaics in homes in Old Town with found objects.Fourth graders used the process of art critique to analyze works of Contemporary Art from the MCA. Fifth graders continued to paint their hot air balloons. Sixth and seventh graders also used the process of art critique, analyzing Ancient Art and American Art, respectively. Eighth graders revisited their photography unit, doing an exercise in "drawing light," to better understand the root of the term, "photograph."
